HOLLY BLACK, SHRM–CP
Holly is a seasoned expert in Human Resources, Immigration and Business Growth, especially for companies looking to expand in the United States market. As a Canadian citizen currently residing in the U.S., Holly possesses firsthand knowledge of the complexities involved in doing business in the U.S. She is an invaluable partner to international, particularly Canadian, businesses aiming to explore growth opportunities in the U.S. market.
With over 10 years of operational experience, professional human resources services, and immigration support, Holly is a results-driven leader dedicated to helping businesses thrive. She excels in talent management, talent acquisition, retention, HR solutions, and immigration services, all designed to harness the power of a company's most valuable asset: its people. Holly's extensive academic background, including a double bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology, a master’s degree in war studies, and her SHRM-CP certification, allows her to help businesses understand and optimize their workforce strategically.
Holly's HR career began in talent acquisition at a start-up recruiting and staffing agency, where she provided on-site HR support for clients. She later worked with Bombardier Transportation, overseeing the recruitment of over 400 employees in two years. Seeking a more strategic role, Holly earned her SHRM-CP credentials and joined Wabtec Co. as an HR manager. There, she successfully reduced attrition rates from 54% to 16% during COVID-19 and “The Great Resignation” and implemented strategies to meet production demands. Holly also played a key role in managing organizational changes during a major global restructure, offering critical advice on planning and organizational structures.
As a dynamic leader and entrepreneur, Holly founded Crossborder Development Corporation to support international companies in their growth and navigation of the U.S. business landscape. She offers strategic operational and people planning, as well as immigration support, to help businesses overcome cross-border challenges and focus on their growth.
